You are kindly invited to register for the virtual workshop “Translating Science into Policy: Best Practices and Challenges”, which will be held online on 20 October 2022, from 14.30 to 17.30 CET.
The SCAR Strategic Working Group on Food Systems (SCAR FS SWG), as the body providing advice to EU agricultural research and policy development in the field of food, organizes a half-day workshop for identifying virtuous projects, experiences and best practice guidelines of translating science into policy.
The workshop will contribute to SCAR FS SWG Action 3 “Translate science into policy” expected outcomes by gathering input from relevant stakeholders. Participants will include SCAR FS SWG members and observers, representatives from the European Commission, EC High-Level Expert Group, JPIs and H2020 projects and European Partnerships, etc.
In order to facilitate the participated sharing and discussion of experiences and best practices, breakout sessions will be organized during the workshop. Specifically, the following questions will be proposed in the breakout groups:
- Do you have experiences about “Translating Science into Policy” to share?
- Can you describe one relevant good practice among them, and the drivers that facilitated the translation?
- What are the relevant barriers and the challenges for the implementation of these practices?
- Where do you see your country in the development of Science to policy interfaces, what are the needs and gaps, what types of action are needed in order to reach an adequate science to policy interface? (if time allows)
If you would like to give your contribution, you can start thinking of some practices of translating science into policy, thus to share them in your breakout group. Your input will be valuable for inspiring stakeholders debate and action in different EU Member States.
