We are delighted to announce that today is the official launch of the Horizon Europe Mission: “A Soil Deal for Europe: 100 living labs and lighthouses to lead the transition towards healthy soils by 2030”.

The mission will address global challenges and implement an ambitious research and innovation programme funded under Horizon Europe. The Mission has the objective to improve soil health and soil functions through the development of innovation hotspots, such as “living labs” involving stakeholders, citizens, scientists and other actors, and “lighthouses” (sites showing exemplary practices). The mission will generate data, fill knowledge gaps and develop more robust methods and tools for soil monitoring as well as for evaluating the effects of soil management measures,. The mission will also implement citizen engagement activities and seek to improve knowledge on soil.
